Situated approximately 45 minutes from Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific coast, Todos Santos is nestled between white sand beaches, the rugged mountain range of the Sierra de La Laguna and the magnificent desert terrain north of Los Cabos. As you enter Todos Santos, you’re struck by the surprisingly verdant environment of this historic town, surrounded by a natural palm oasis and lush fruit orchards.
Formerly a sugar mill town, Todos Santos is now known for its thriving artist population, surfer expats and warm local hospitality. You’ll discover a profusion of fascinating art galleries, small luxury hotels, wonderful restaurants, charming historic architecture and a laid-back vibe that’s a striking counterpoint to the bustle of Cabo San Lucas.
During the winter months, migrating whales pass by very close to shore along the Pacific beaches. For experienced surfers, the breaks at Cerritos and San Pedrito are big draws. Be advised that the surf on the Pacific can be dangerous with strong riptides. As such, swimming at most beaches along the coastline is not advised, but they’re great for sunbathing! History buffs will appreciate the lovely old mission church and the intriguing Hotel California (often mistakenly thought to be the inspiration for the famous Eagles song of the same name). The annual Art Festival (early February) is a fun-filled event.
