If shopping is on your vacation agenda, you won’t be disappointed in Los Cabos. Around the marina in Cabo San Lucas, you’ll find a host of souvenir shops selling everything from novelty t-shirts and shot glasses to high-end tequila brands and handmade textiles. You’ll also find some luxury boutiques boasting world-famous name brands. Strolling street vendors will also offer their wares as you pass them. If you’re not interested, just say “no gracias” and keep walking.
If you’re a fan of hand-made goods, the wonderful art galleries of San José del Cabo and Todos Santos offers a dazzling variety of jewelry, original artwork, textiles, pottery and folk art. In San José del Cabo, the Thursday evening Art Walk takes place from November through June, during which galleries stay open late and live music floats through the romantic streets. If you’re on the Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, shopping options are more limited. However, resort shops are one option, as are the luxurious Shoppes at Palmilla, a small shopping center offering an attractive selection of high-end goods and dining.
For those looking for big-box stores and grocery stores offering convenient basics, visitors will find a Sam’s Club and a Costco in Los Cabos. A number of excellent Mexican supermarkets are in the area as well, including the modern Mega located in San José del Cabo. If you’re looking for organic produce, several regular farmers’ markets will fill your craving for fresh local ingredients. The San José del Cabo Mercado Organico takes place each Saturday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm just outside the historic downtown.
